What You Need to Know About Toenail Fungus Spread

It is important to note that fungi are found everywhere. They are present in the water, soil, plants, on the skin, in most surfaces and even with the air we are breathing. Not all fungi are bad and some are used in the production of beer, wine, bread as well as some medicines which makes them important. Fungus in small quantities have no adverse effects on a person but if their number rises, there can pose a threat to your health. One of them is with the development of a fungal infection. Let us look at some of the factors on how do u get toenail fungus.

3Common Fungus Breeding Ground

As mentioned earlier, fungi are found everywhere. Households and many work environments, however, are places where fungal spores are more prevalent. Workplace areas where employees are required to wear close shoes all throughout the day are more likely to develop toenail fungus if they are not careful. The reason behind this is that wearing shoes all day will sometimes not give our feet the breathing room and circulation that it needs. This often results in moist buildups which can then lead to bacterial and fungal growth.

It should be noted that even if you are not wearing something like a tight-fitted shoe the entire day, there is still a risk that you can get the fungus through other means. This is through physical contact which is common with people who share footwear to others. Public pools, showers and other similar places can expose your feet making them prone to getting unwanted infections.
