The most common group of fungi called dermatophytes is the major culprit when it comes to nail fungus infections. This nail condition may also be caused by several types of yeasts and molds. These pathogens that bring you nail fungus infections often get into the skin through the small cuts and spaces between the nail and the nail bed.
